On the morning of February 28, Secretary-General Jieni Guo was invited to visit the headquarter office of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and met with Bill Moran, Publisher of the Science Family of Journals, and Chu Xiaoying, Director of Global Collaboration and Partner Publishing, Asia of AAAS/Science.
Mr. Moran firstly expressed his warm welcome to Secretary General Guo, and fully affirmed the achievements of the cooperation between Science and Beijing International Exchange Association in the past period. He believed that the cooperation between two sides shared a very bright future. Then Secretary General Guo brief introduced the BIEA and its background of hosting the AAAS annual meeting scientific session. She also invited Mr. Moran to participate in this event in the morning of the March 3rd.
Both sides had a frank, in-depth and friendly exchange on jointly promoting civil science and technology exchanges, local cooperation and issues of common concern between the two countries. They agreed that science has no national boundaries, and as representatives of civil organizations, they are obliged to take the lead in releasing positive signals of friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and the U.S. and strengthen communication and cooperation in the field of science and technology and humanities exchanges.
