Eurasian Young Scientists Open Science Salon Successfully Held Online

Organized by the BIEA, the Eurasian Young Scientists Open Science Salon was successfully held online from July 20 to 21, 2022 with the support of CODATA, TAR UC, Athena RC and OpenAIRE. 19 young scientists and experts in the Open Science area from 11 European and Asian countries gathered to address the open science cooperation in the related fields of open science policy, open data access, public engagement, and university practice on open science, the common challenges and problems faced by mankind in the current complex global situation, and the scientific solution to open innovation.

 

At last, Ms. Hilary Hanahoe, Secretary-General of Research Data Alliance and Prof. Dr. Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UC concluded the Salon and made brilliant comments on the presentations and views of the speakers.

 

The Research Report on “Current Status and Development Trends of Open Science in Asia and Europe” was also officially published at the event. The report summarizes the current status of open science development and the international cooperation in open science that has been carried out in 15 typical countries in Asia and Europe, analyzes the basic forms and experiences of these collaborations, and also predicts the possible trends of cooperation in the coming period.
