On the morning of March 3, 2023 (local time), the thematic forum “Building Entrepreneurial Capacity for Women in Science and Technology” was successfully held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center during the 2023 Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Washington, D.C. The forum was organized by the Beijing International Exchange Association, with active participation from the BRICS Platform for Enhancing Scientific Capacity and Innovation Cooperation.

The forum focused on promoting the participation and development of women in global science and innovation ecosystems. Experts, scholars, and policy representatives from the United States, Portugal, and China were invited to share insights and experiences on advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the European Union’s support systems for women entrepreneurs, and China's practical approaches to empowering women in science and technology.

The platform's participation highlighted its significant role in enhancing scientific capacity, promoting gender equality, and supporting the development of women in science and technology across BRICS+ countries. Looking ahead, the platform will continue to leverage the international network of the Beijing International Exchange Association to support more women innovators in achieving breakthroughs and growth on the global stage.
