From October 19 to 20, 2023, the International Youth Scientist Salon on Synergistic Digital and Green Transformation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), was successfully held in Beijing. The event brought together eight international young scientists from seven countries and regions—including Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, and Pakistan—alongside more than 60 Chinese young researchers and expert representatives, to engage in in-depth exchanges on the theme of digital-green synergistic transformation.

During the forum, participants conducted on-site visits to DiDi’s Beijing Technology Exhibition Hall and Alibaba’s Beijing headquarters, gaining immersive insights into China’s practices in smart mobility and digital innovation. The event was also livestreamed online, attracting more than 80,000 viewers and further amplifying its international impact.

Under the coordination of the Beijing International Exchange Association, the BRICS Platform for Enhancing Scientific Capacity and Innovation Cooperation actively participated in the event. The platform encouraged young scientific talents to engage in international multilateral dialogue and promoted the integration of digital technologies with green development. This participation highlighted the contributions of BRICS youth in addressing global sustainable development challenges through science and innovation.
