From October 27 to November 1, 2024, the 6th China-Russia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition series was successfully held across three Chinese cities—Harbin, Beijing, and Xiamen. As one of the key bilateral mechanisms for science and technology innovation exchange between China and Russia, this year’s competition was jointly organized by multiple institutions from both countries, with strong support and coordination provided by the BRICS Platform for Enhancing Scientific Capacity and Innovation Cooperation. The platform contributed to advancing outcomes in technology commercialization, market integration, and innovation resource sharing between Chinese and Russian tech enterprises.
The grand final took place on October 27 in Harbin, gathering 35 Chinese and Russian companies and over 80 representatives from sectors including high-tech, venture capital, and science and technology services. Participants showcased collaborative achievements in cutting-edge areas such as intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and green and low-carbon technologies.
On the following day, the China-Russia Science and Technology Innovation Collaboration Roundtable Forum focused on topics such as resource synergy, talent mobility, and cross-border incubation, further promoting in-depth engagement among research institutes, enterprises, and platforms from both countries.
On October 30, the competition moved to the Chaoyang Accelerator in Beijing, where nine Russian startup teams engaged in face-to-face exchanges with over 60 Chinese tech enterprises and investment institutions. Discussions centered on market access, technological matchmaking, and joint R&D cooperation models.
On November 1, selected Russian companies traveled to Xiamen for additional business matchmaking activities, engaging with more than 100 Chinese companies to explore cooperation opportunities in fields such as biomedicine, new energy, and digital technologies.
As a supporting organization, the BRICS Platform actively assisted in event organization, local coordination, and multilateral matchmaking efforts, providing strong backing for the practical application of China-Russia scientific and technological achievements and the establishment of a regularized exchange mechanism.
This series of activities effectively promoted the flow of innovation elements between China and Russia, offering a practical model for multilateral collaboration under the BRICS framework.
