At the end of 2024, the Beijing International Exchange Association officially submitted its proposal titled "Empowering BRICS+ Countries through Emerging Technologies for Capacity Building for High-Quality and Sustainable Development" to UNESCO’s International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (2024–2034) Global Initiative. Recently, the BIEA received formal confirmation from UNESCO that the project has been successfully endorsed in the first set of recognized initiatives under the Decade.
This five-year initiative, developed in collaboration with partners from Brazil, Iran, Malaysia, Russia, Thailand, and beyond, focuses on advancing frontier technologies such as AI, aerospace, nanotechnology, clean energy, and quantum science. It aims to promote inclusive and sustainable development in BRICS+ countries, especially at the community level and among vulnerable groups, through collaborative innovation.
