As the ninth United Nations Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development Multi-stakeholder Forum (UN STI Forum) approaches, the Beijing International Exchange Association will co-host an online side event with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office in Tajikistan. The theme of this side event is "Advancing Emerging Technologies in Vulnerable Groups to Strengthen the 2030 Agenda: Strategies and Cases," aiming to explore how emerging technologies can assist vulnerable groups and promote the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

It is reported that out of the 28 side events to be held during this STI Forum, only 2 were successfully proposed by Chinese institutions. During this forum, the Beijing International Exchange Association and the UNDP Office in Tajikistan will co-host an online side event titled "Advancing Emerging Technologies in Vulnerable Groups to Strengthen the 2030 Agenda: Strategies and Cases" from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Eastern Time on May 9, 2024, which corresponds to 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM Beijing Time on the same date. The side event plans to invite experts and scholars from various fields to share their insights and views on topics such as global digital development and governance, artificial intelligence and vocational education in China, promoting sustainable development through green technologies, and enhancing digital literacy and skills among women. Through the collision of ideas, the event aims to promote the dissemination and application of emerging technologies among vulnerable groups, thereby supporting the realization of the 2030 Agenda.
